The exhibition “Meraviglie Sonore, Strumenti del Barocco Italiano” (Sound Wonders, Instruments of Italian Baroque), was held at the Galleria dell’Accademia of Firenze in 2007.
It gathered, for the first time, more than sixty musical instruments of the Baroque period, built in Italy, characterized by the use of rare or precious materials, by the richness and accuracy of the paintings and carvings, carved and inlaid decorations, and by surprising and unusual shapes.
The lighting, consistent with the intent of the exhibition, was designed to amaze the visitor, transporting him into the emotional dimension typical of the Baroque age.
