Piazza Marsilio Ficino in Figline Valdarno is the beating heart of city life. Among the most beautiful squares in the province of Florence, it was born in the Middle Ages as a “mercatale”, a place of exchanges and junction towards the surrounding area: its history has marked its physiognomy, still perfectly recognizable today, with houses and arcades for trade crowded around the market.
The lighting project aims to emphasize the identity of the square, creating a welcoming environment, which the community can strongly feel as its own. The control system manages different scenarios: the functional needs, which meet the safety demands of the community, are flanked by softer and more welcoming environments, adapted to the numerous events that take place in the square.
